2023 admissions announcement.

Nowruz Mubarak! As spring begins, I’m thrilled to share this news: on Thursday, March 23 – two days from now – SOLA will open our admissions season for 2023. We will enroll a new class of Afghan girls and bring them to SOLA’s campus in Rwanda.

In 2022, we received 180 applications from 10 countries. We admitted 27 girls, and I’m so proud of our continuing partnership with the UN’s International Organization for Migration that will ensure that every new student will continue to arrive in Rwanda safely.

Tomorrow on Twitter, I’ll be posting a list of Frequently Asked Questions about admissions. On Thursday, our online application goes live in English, Dari, and Pashto. Everything will be available across SOLA’s social media and here on our website.

March 23 will mark 1 year since the closing of girls' schools in Afghanistan, 1 year since the Taliban told Afghan girls their dreams meant nothing. They have no idea how wrong they are.

SOLA’s mission is to educate Afghan girls. Nothing can ever change that. Nothing ever will. We will always be a home for Afghan girls. You have sisters here in Rwanda. You are the leaders of the future Afghanistan.
