A home in Rwanda.
In 2021, SOLA came to Rwanda. Our students have lived and studied in a rented facility each year since our arrival.
In 2025, everything changes.
Join us as we break ground on our new campus. A home in Rwanda. A home for Afghan girls.
The land you see here, a quiet hillside under a sunny sky, is where our future unfolds. This land is the site of our future campus.
Our creation of our campus design has been the work of several years, and at full capacity, we envision enrolling as many as 250 students. Our girls will live in dormitories for middle schoolers and high schoolers, and they’ll take full advantage of not just our classrooms and lab spaces, but also our mosque, our library, and our student center.
You’ll see architectural renderings of some of our campus facilities here on this page. Click on any of the images to enlarge.
250 Afghan girls. 250 Afghan girls who, at SOLA in Rwanda, will learn to see each other as sisters, living and learning together in this peaceful place, growing to become confident leaders with the skills to transform their homeland. We intend to nurture a global movement of educated young women, a sisterhood that crosses all borders. It all starts here.
Groundbreaking was in February 2025, and we’re so happy that so many members of our international SOLA family were able to join us for this extraordinary day. Student art was on display, and our girls presented speeches and recited poetry — we’ll be sharing some of their words with you over the next few weeks, and we hope you’ll scroll down just a bit further to see images from our celebration.
Our first school year in our new campus is scheduled to begin in September 2026. We’ll add new content to this page regularly. Watch us as we grow.
